In the spring of 2025, SOR and Flux Poetry and Spoken Word held an open mic where we raised over $100 for the Rivanna Area Queer Center's queer therapy fund, which will go towards providing free therapy services to queer community members in need. Many of our members have also been involved with helping the RAQC prepare for their grand opening.

In the fall of 2023, SOR hosted a demonstration on Coming Out Day in response to the invitation of Abigail Shrier to Grounds. At the event, students and community members gathered to express their support for the trans community, and several shared their experiences as members and allies of the community.
